Kodiak falls under the umbrella of the Nature of Leadership. NOL comprises the Venturing Leadership Skills Course (VLSC), Kodiak, and Kodiak X. Kodiak is a high adventure trek set in the classroom of the outdoors; it is NOT meant to be in the classroom! Rather, it is learning leadership skill directly from the examples taught in nature. An example of this is apparent in the life and struggles of a butterfly.
Kodiak is an exciting and adventurous trek based on the servant leader concept, based on nature, and becomes a turning point in the lives of those who attend. The five commissions (skills) taught through the trek are:
I. Effective Teams
II. Values/Vision
III. Communications
IV. Decision making
V. Planning
